Would Atari have been a stronger competitor against Nintendo and Sega if they retooled the Lynx as a console instead of a handheld and scrapped the Jaguar altogether?

The Lynx is huge as fuck, goddamn. Should have called it Rhino or Elephant or something.
>>
No. What are you nuts? Compare the Genesis version of Todd's Adventures in Slime World to the Lynx version, or Gauntlet 4. And you're suggesting they'd put it up against Saturn?

>And you're suggesting they'd put it up against Saturn?

the Lynx released in 1989, it wouldve gone against the Genesis
>>

Most of the companies back then didn't even have solid competition for the NES and SNES before they tried to take on the Gameboy. A bit more thought and effort into their home consoles would've gone a long way.

The Lynx sucked ass, so did the Jaguar. They would've needed a far better solution than either of them.

>>3214843
No
>>
>>3214850
There's a smaller one but it's still as big as a Game Gear
>>
>>3214859
Yeah but he said consolize it instead of releasing Jaguar. What they should have consolized was Falcon.
>>
This is like asking if Nintendo should have turned the game boy into a console and scrapped the NES
>>
If you want to save Atari, you need to time travel pre-crash and basically hold all the execs at gunpoint and force them to make sane decisions

what about it? It's pretty damn comfy. The size of the Lynx meant you had something to wrap your fingers around. The AB buttons fell where you thumb would rest. You could flip the thing for left handed play and even vertical (the one true way to play Klax outside of the arcade.)
At worst, maybe are the option buttons, but they're not meant to be primary action buttons.

There are just 2 buttons man, the one on the bottom are the same ones but for left handed people.
