What's the first video game you'd let your first son

My son's first game was Mischief Makers because that's the game I was playing at the time. He grabbed the controlled and fucked around with the controls, having carefree fun. I think he was 2 or 3 at the time.

I don't think I would have ever thought about what game would be his first, it just happened naturally.

I'd just let him have free reign of my collection. Let him explore on his own.

If I had to choose a retro game to first let my kid play, it'd probably be Super Mario 64. It's pretty forgiving, but also incredibly fun and has tons of secrets for him to discover. It's a really expansive 3D world, though not quite as large and complex as the N64 Zelda games. I think it'd be better to introduce him to OoT and Majora's Mask later on in life when he could actually appreciate the themes (around high school maybe).

Then again, it'd be kind of stupid to raise your kid on outdated media that will make it harder to relate to other kids his age.

But then again, I don't ever plan on having kids anyways.

Having a kid is something that just happens in life. I have 2 kids and I never thought I would end up being a dad when I was younger, but here I am. I'm not rich but my economy situation is stable. I don't regret having kids, but I totally respect someone who decides not to.

he's six and the first game I let him play was Super Mario Bros. He ended up getting pretty decent at it, which made me proud.

He doesn't really branch out too much, and loves Mario Maker to death. Usually just makes levels with tons of enemies and bosses to fight instead of making interesting platforming levels, but hey he has fun so its not like its a problem.
