Chanced upon this when I was searching for PAL PSUs for PS1s since the country I live in uses 240V and I wanted to know if I have options aside from getting a stepdown transformer.
Should I grab one and test it out or just invest in a stepdown transformer for the PS1 instead?

i'm pretty sure there's another adapter you can use from a ps2 slim or something (don't just do this check first) but the difference in 220-240 shouldn't be a problem.

Power ANYTHING from cheapo Chinese online shops are all miss for me. This is a recent revelation for me, I've notice all my "power" items are complete garbage.

That won't do, those are basically the standard adapter connected to a box that goes on into a smaller jack that doesn't connect to the PS1.
