Haven't played it in a while, but I did a dozen playthroughs. Fun little game with great visuals.

And what are your best/favorite endings OP? Mine were General and Court magician.

I can't get back into 2 because I know the system too well.
I should be playing 3 more but I have trouble warming up to it.

I'm a big fan of the combat related endings, first time playing got the Hero warrior endings I think and then tried to get all the other fighting type endings.

I haven't in a while but it's still definitely one of my favorite games. I did try Long Live the Queen recently though, but all it did was make me miss this game.

There's a translation project for the refine edition of the game but last I checked up on that the person behind it fell victim to the ominous PC failure that every fan project lead succumbs to.

I spent a lot of time in the Saturn version back when it came out. That feeling of slowly learning the system/world and mastering it was great. First playthroughs are "wtf I can't get any money she fails at everything oh gee it's that boring ending again." And then a dozen plays later "my daughter is a legend in her own time."

I tried getting into 3 but the lack of map exploration was a disappointment. I'll give it another try one of these days.

I played it a lot a long time ago. I got her to win all the arts contests, defeat the war god, marry the prince, and have the king abdicate and let her take over as queen. I think that's the best possible result. It required a lot of adventuring for stat manipulation events.

Mechanically, it's pretty much the same as Princess Maker 2. The girl is different and some of the endings are different but overall if you played 2, you more or less played this. I'd still recommend playing it just because it's cool but it's not like you're missing on anything.

I turned her into a mistress my first playthrough. Spiked dress and male suitors paying me weekly and everything.

Second playthrough, she was an adventurer. Full combat. Tons of fun!

I need to try this on the saturn for a little longer. I know I can play translated windows versions to make the reading part a little less difficult, but I'm not nearly as motivated since I went on a tokimemo binge.

IBM-DOS.

The game isn't heavy on dialogs. You mainly need to understand what the stats are and how they are affected by the tasks. The icons and visuals should be enough to comprehend the different tasks.

Takami Akai is pretty much a legend. The only thing I don't like about his work is the humongous eyes, but I can't let that stop to recognize his phenomenal designs and pixel skills.

You're best bet at beating him is magic. It's also quite useful to have for the tournament.
