What are some /vr/ approved licensed games? Pic related I think is pretty good. Has decent music and has a good level of challenge and variety.

I guess we'll obviate the Disney/Capcom canon.

What a weird time that was, when licenses meant more budget for quality and innovation instead of just aggressive blandness

>>3161084
Is that like a port of the NES game? That was a good one. You fought Prehistoric Dracula and shit
>>
>>3161084
It literally puts the ™ symbol in the dialog when someone says Bedrock or Yabba-dabba-do.
>>
>>3161090
It's a Genesis game from 1993, don't know if it's a port!

>>3161093
That always gave me a good chuckle!

The game is fun.

Very nice platformer full of secrets for those who like to explore. Also very faithful to the cartoon.

Good one, but the Genesis game is where it was at; being able to play as the Coyote is the deal breaker, and much more appropiate for the source material. Playing as the RR should be an extra

It would be clickbait of the month, even though it was most likely due to a hardware limitation making it hard for the developers to include the fourth character or even a color palette issue (as racist as that sounds, had been an issue in 8 and 16 bit games before).
That said, it's not like the movie was any better, but then it could be argued that Ernie Hudson was the fifth billing of the movie after more famous names.
>>
>>3161090
>>3161096
It's not a port. More of a sequel.
>>
>>3161221
>fifth billing

Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, Sigourney Weaver, Harold Ramis, Rick Moranis, Annie Potts, then Ernie Hudson if we're going by fame.
>>
>>3161242
I was balancing fame and his role in the movie.
>>
>>3161171

I like the snes version way more but to each his own.
>>
>>3161093
Kek it's like playing a wrestling or superhero game!
>>
>>3161221
>(as racist as that sounds, had been an issue in 8 and 16 bit games before).
I remember seeing this Lethal Weapon pinball machine in attract mode. On the amber LED matrix display it showed depictions of Riggs, then Murtaugh, who was literally just a pair of floating eyes. Binary threshold logic knows no political correctness.
>>
>>3161121
God I hated how the levels were setup. You always run into an obstacle every few seconds while running at sanic speed
>>
>>3163912
Really? I just use road runner's brakes and that's it. It does even kill enemies.
>>

SNES
-Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse
-Lion King
-Tom and Jerry (Actually it sucks, but I love tom and jerry.)

Genesis
-Animaniacs

SMS
-Mickey Mouse Castle of Illusion
-Lucky Dime Caper starring Donald Duck

I could say Aladdin, quackshot, chip'n'dale. back in those days licensed games were often pretty good

>>
>>3161084
There are TONS of quality Capcom and Konami licensed games.
>>
>>3165853
How come Capcom and Konami and LJN get access to so many licenses anyway? Was it because they had one hit game and suddenly everyone wanted them to make their IP games?
>>
>>3165870
Most of Capcom's are Disney games, so it's more like they just had a blanket Disney license that let them do everything

For Konami it was more likely that they did a great job with TMNT which led them to be a licensing powerhouse for a bit
>>
>>3165886
I always wonder how everyone got a hold of all those brands so easily. They must have been a lot more forgiving back then.

I mean it's just a graphics edit of wonder boy in monster land, but that's still an awesome game.
>>
>>3165870

Game licenses were probably easier to score back then because they didn't have as big of budgets as they do now, it was like licensing toys or action figures. Throw something together, people will buy it for its name, so you're almost guaranteed a profit. It just so happened that companies like Konami and Capcom were making amazing games too.
>>
>>3166198
Agreed. This game is awesome.
>>
>>3161190

>>
>>3161090
Bought Little Mermaid for my girl because it's one of her favorite movies and it's not a bad game. Sure it's very easy but it def has that Capcom Nes feel and the controls are pretty tight.
>>
>>3164038
I remember renting this back when it first came out and enjoyed it but I was like what 12 so I'd like to play it again and see if it holds up.

Also it's a shame Tim Burton didn't get to make Batman 3, Robin Williams would of been a cool Riddler in Tim Burton's style.

SNES Animaniacs is also pretty great. Very unique gameplay, although it borrows the dash mechanic from Buster Busts Loose.

>>
>>3164215

This.

The people who say the snes version is better are out of their goddamn minds.
>>
>>3170969

They're 2 different games anyway.

I didn't like the gameplay/design on the Virgin game and much prefer the Capcom one, but neither of them are masterpieces anyway. The only reason keep bringing it up is because of console wars.
>>
Batman by SunSoft needs to be mentioned.

FLEENSTONES?!

Likewise, Power Rangers Fighting Edition is a great fighting game made by the same devteam as Endless Duel.

I'll take the acrobatic gymnast, makes gameplay better.

Sheep, dog n wolf was amazing. Cartoon graphics, Looney Tunes characters and nice mix of platforming, action and puzzles.
>>
>>3171217
I remember Bugs Bunny Lost in Time was pretty good too for a Looney Tunes game.
>>
Alice in WOnderland on the GBC is very underrated.
>>
Both this and the Super Star Wars games are a lot of fun.
