Whilst clearing some stuff out of my Mrs parent's house we stumbled across a Spectrum with about 40 games. Implying it works, what is it worth? What should I be aware of when selling it?
Wow nice find brother!
Even a used but good condition spectrum can still fetch thousands of dollars on a good day!
Even rare good condition tapes are worth a fue hundred each as tape rot has killed most of the games :(

He probably doesn't want it or something. I dunno, I personally don't like to assume the worst of people

So about three fifty?
Looks like 128k models with tape drives built in are moving for 20-40 on ebay without much for cassettes, my guess is that like other 80s computers it's a case where the hardware is cheap and the games are pricey these days.
I might try asking in the retro computing general, they would be able to give you a better assessment of its worth and of any potential pitfalls.
The hardware still fetches decent money maybe £40 just as a guess the tapes are worthless ,chances are the belt needs to be replaced in the tape drive, just go on eBay and look how much they are worth you nigger
