So /vr/ I need some help.
My Dreamcast has problems reading some games, even tho they look just fine. I git like 20 games, of which my dreamcast is not possible to play 5, for example worms armageddon.
When I try to start the games, the console stays a while at the "Dreamcast Windows CE" Screen and than just goes into the dreamcast menu, like there was no game.
Is this fixable and if so, what can I do to repair it.

IIRC, something in the DC "dies" making it impossible to read games (this happened to my original console back in '04 or so).

Seems odd that it only does it to certain games, though.

Where does /vr/ get their DC games? Prices seem to be skyrocketing lately, I bought Third Strike a couple years ago for $30 and it's over $100 on eBay.

I bought most of my games back in 2011 from ebay and the prices were pretty reasonable. Now if you want games like Cannon Spike or Power Stone 2, expect to pay at least $100 if not more.

Dreamcasts can literally just read burned ROMs they have no copyright protection at all, part of why it failed.

Could your laser be shoddy? Not a Dreamcast specialist but I know that's a common problem and repair.

I bought a Dreamcast a couple of weeks ago, and I'm having problems with only getting sound out of one speaker due to the av port.

At first I thought it was maybe the TV itself or the av cord being crappy. I checked the same RCA ports with my GameCube and got sound from both speakers so I ordered a VGA cable for it. Then when that arrived I still wasn't able to get full sound. I did manage to get both speakers going with the RCA cable if I jiggled it around a while, but the slightest movement knocked it back to one.

It's the laser, they're pretty commonly worn down at this point. You can actually adjust the laser using a screwdriver, this will fix the problem but it will probably break again within a few months.

You could also get a GDEMU when they come back in stock, the mod basically works as an sd card expansion by plugging into the serial port of the GD ROM. https://gdemu.wordpress.com/
