I mean yeah, he was rather justified in going on that revolt given the world was coming to an end thanks to them, but it did show he was not a totally guiltless murderer going on a revenge spree like we all thought he would turn out to be. Matra magic makes mobs a joke, Big guard will give you every protect spell, and white wind is the best healing spell in the game

Chocobo breeding is tedious and horrible.

A first time player doesn't need to know it and can very easily stumble into hilariously broken enemy skills just by keeping it equipped because they think the concept of learning enemy spells is cool. By the end of disc 1 you should have Trine and Aqualung, both of which are massively broken for their MP cost, because bosses that are NOT OPTIONAL use them on you, and that's if you didn't accidentally pick up the latter while fucking around in the Corel desert. And before that? Matra Magic is easy to get on accident just after you get Enemy Skill itself and is extremely powerful for that section of the game on top of being extremely cheap.

The only good enemy skills you really need to go out of your way to get are Beta, White Wind, and Big Guard.

MIDI quality can be good enough to fool people into thinking it's real instruments. Eg. movie soundtracks are frequently MIDI not real orchestras. When you have hundreds of gigabytes of samples and highly realistic physical modeling MIDI can sound great.

FF7's music is more like tracker music, and it suffers from the small samples. FF8 and FF9 use much bigger samples and sound correspondingly better, but still nowhere near modern MIDI quality.

Coming from Final Fantasy III (VI) and Chrono Trigger for the SNES I loved FFVII, played the shit out of that game and I did liked to play and make really awesome materia combos.

Ofcourse you can just ignore all the materia sistem and focus just in the regular use of the materia and you will still have the same result over all.
I woudnt say it was broken, its more of a if you wish to make your game easier work on those materia combos if not just use it like regular.

Other than that I find no flaw of this game. Yuffie and Vincent were optional characters and they didn't even needed a story but they did put it in albeit not an extraordinary one but its there.

I love how cloud its such an idiot in the game, the new games and that shitty movie ruined the character and tsundere him for no fucking reason.

Big Guard and White Wind are spells you have to very specifically go out of your way to get, nobody who hasn't played through the game before or who isn't using a strategy guide is going to get them. And normal magic spells are actually pretty useful until you level up into the 30s or so.
