A few years back my garage burned to the ground due to some electrical nonsense and my dozens of old game magazines burned with it.

They didn't need to say anything about the game, that advertisement wasn't aimed at people who didn't already know about it. It was aimed at people who played the game in the arcades already to convince them to get it to play at home.

Something that is often lost on people now is how big a deal SF2 was when it was new. For a lot of people it was THE game, and having it exclusive on your console and being able to market it as such was a massive thing. I have absolutely no doubt that SF2 sold a large amount of SNES consoles to people that would have otherwise ignored the system entirely in favour of the competition, and that's what that ad is about.
