Pokemon are quite powerful. The most powerful enemy you face in Doom is the cyber demon, who can stomp you and shoot rockets. Pokemon can shoot lightning, freeze stuff, shoot giant energy beams, cause earthquakes, cut an enemy in half, etc. Doomguy has guns, brains, and speed, so at least so he could kill a lot of Pokemon before they get him.

Dude the first two gens have Mewtoo, the legendary birds, the beasts, Ho-oh and Lugia. Those are OP as shit. Not to mention there relly aren't that many types of demons.

So it is basically a walking 5-6 meters tall tank, who can shoot infinite amount of rockets, and can withstand something like 50 hits from an RPG. All non-flier pokemon would end up as a bloody grease on the floor, the fliers would have a decent chance but only cause the Cyberdemon can't really hit them back, unless they fly into one of his rockets. Still, even most flier pokemon wouldn't be able to put much hurt on him, and probably end up tired before they could kill the Cyberdemon (which does not tire, it goes at full steam until it hits 0 HP, then it explodes).

And then you still have the Spider Mastermind who is larger than the Cyberdemon and has a chaingun (more effective against fliers), and the Archvile who can make anything in his line of sight magically go boom (only way to dodge is to get into cover to block the line of sight).

It sounds to me that Doomguy only has to deal with more environmental hazard, and perhaps smaller targets. Doom monsters would stomp all shit out of Pokémon otherwise, and getting hit by lightning or energy beams can't be that much more different from the countless bullets, fireballs, plasma charges, rockets, and archvile mini-nukes that Doomguy survives. Not to mention running around at 50MPH on lava and acid while carrying 200 pounds of equipment, without slowing.

Actually the only way Doomguy could lose against pokemon is running out of ammo, since dead pokemon don't drop any, and then being overwhelmed by attacks that outrange the chainsaw.

My money's still on the Pokeymen though. Most of that 251 will be burger in seconds, but I can't imagine the Golem, Onyx, etc. being all that fazed by bullets, rockets, and Hellfire, Diglett/Dugtrio will be a pain with their digging bollocks, Ditto's a wildcard, and the ghosts should be damn effective depending on if demons require a Silph Scope or not. The OP psychic-types could either be really effective, or suffer some "staring into the abyss" style shit and be rendered useless.

Yeah good point.

Canonically, wild pokemon are inferior to trained pokemon. This is reflected in the mechanics by the fact that freshly caught pokemon have no EV's, and have certain moves that can only be taught by a human (TM's and HM's, move tutors, etc.)

There's not a heck of a lot Doomguy could do against a Digglet if it kept going underground and using earthquake.

Also, his helmet doesn't have earplugs. Falling asleep when a 20 foot dragon is looking to eat you isn't a great situation.
