Best retro handheld console?
eh....None of them were very good desu. I only bought into the GB after they released the Color. _That_ was a handheld; not this pea-soup shit or the parade of battery-munching fuckoffs. The Gameboy Pocket is prolly my minimum acceptable standard for a distinct handheld (in that sense the Turbo Handheld doesn't even count; it's just a miniaturized TG-16).
Why do people even bother making threads like this? You know what the answer is going to be.
Game BoyAdvance

sorry that came out in 2001 therefore it's not retro
By this board's rules of retro? (pre-2000)
NGPC.

I don't want /v/ posting on /vr/
NGPC. Relatively few games were released for it, but a surprisingly large percentage of them are worth playing.

Not retro
If the Turbo Express is allowed then of course the Sega Nomad.
How can those other handhelds even compete with blast processing?
>>3011292
They can't.
As long as you're connected to an outlet the whole time.
Kinda loses the handheld purpose.
The only real answer.

Gameboy light
the size of the pocket, less batteries than the DMG and a screen light to make it playable anywhere
>>3011043
best in what? Technical specs? Sales? Game library? Personal opinion? Judging this by now or from the 90s?
However, gameboy classic. Because fuck technical specs, fuck colour screens, just give me a handheld with an epic game library and great battery life that works. Sales numbers speak for themselves.

game gear
sonic was the first game i really playes. managed to play it through with 6 years
Turbo-Express fucking dominates all the others. Nomad is the only challenger specs wise but form factor and battery life put it far, far behind.
The only argument against this I will even dignify is for Game Boy or NGPC based on how well they were designed around the mobile philosophy but Turbo Express still buries them in performance while only being very slightly fat.

Literally what
I really don't have a strong preference. I had the Gameboy and the Game Gear. I like the Gameboy a bit more just due to the SaGa trilogy on the GB along with the two Kirby games. Though after playingthe VitaI just find most other handhelds weak in the sort of experience they can give regarding to video games, regarding the software or even the hardware it has.
>>3011043
GBC is the best, but I kinda like the look of the Lynx 2 and Game Gear.
>>3011292
By virtue of having a battery life over an hour and a half.
