Does anyone here have one of these? I hear they are actually better than the official N64 controllers.

It looks awkward as fuck if you want to use the dpad.

They look awkward as fuck, period. I could get it being better if your hands were tiny
Mine are not.

I was able to use a friend's Hori pad once. Was really nice, but I can't justify spending $50+ on an N64 controller.
I was thinking about picking one of these up myself.

Just get an official N64 controller with an analog stick replacement. I would imagine the Hori Mini would make the AKI wrestling games unplayable, plus I'm accustomed to the three-pronged design by now.
They're pretty shit.
A n64 controller with a pcb v3 from the German guy is better. Same thing really. Both a little odd in goldeneye.

but dem fighting and wrestling games doe...
I have several. The stick feels amazing and the huge nub is nice.
Pros:
- Stick is amazing feeling
- Great feel when using the typical configruation
Cons:
- Analog stick range is compressed, so it's very sensitive and can go farther than real stick
- D-pad is hard as fuck to use but not impossible
- Expensive
- Plastic shell around the analog is very fragile and will break easily
Do not ever drop these onto the anlog stick. It stresses the plastic around the stick.
My main dev controller is a white Hori I got from a friend in japan years ago. I've dropped it on the floor, trpped ove the cable launching it across the room, rolled over it with my chair... Still works fine, though it's not pretty.

Where is the Z button located?
>>2887079
I don't really care for the stick. but it's not big deal to switch it with a gamecube stick though.
>>2887086
It has shoulder buttons like a Dualshock controller.
Each side has its own Z button. so it's like
<top>
L R
Z Z

>Z Z
>TOP

You know looking at the controller it seems they really should have placed the dpad under the stick rather then in the middle of the controller.
Basically imagine the circle saturn controller. It would have allowed the dpad to be more accessible. Which would make the controller much better.
Do these have the same analog stick as the LodgeNet ones that Hori made to be used in hotel room?
>>2887842
well, it's a generic pot-based stick like literally every other controller (xbawks, paystation, GC etc)
so yes
>>2886409
I do. Never use them though. Some people like them but not me.
>>2886895
At least two of those 3 games are some of the best the system has to offer.
>>2888027
Are referring tokirby 64 and mischief makers
>>2888035
Yep.
>>2888043
Good taste, as wierd as it is to say kirby 64 might be my favorite game on the system, that or banjo kazooie. Mischief makers is also great, I'm playing it for first time right now and I'm stuck on the gold gem on the olympics level.
