Never played it, but I know my friend hated it so much as a kid that he literally threw the cart to the trash bin.

Also it's Hideki Kamiya's favorite western-developed game.

I like it. I played a bunch of dojin and porn dojin parodies back in the day that were better than the original. I think one of them feature tifa and the sequel morrigan or some shit. But alas NOT RETRO.

I could never get any good at it, just spammed high kicks since they had the best reach and did decent damage

I read somewhere that Karateka had a copy-protection, that would make the enemies almost undefeatable.
