Why don't we get any decent romhacks for SMRPG anyway? I mean the game is famous enough, its an RPG, and LazyShell is relatively easy to use.
I know it can take a lot of time to complete a romhack for such a complex game, but its not like we didn't have large groups of people working on the same hack before.

I watched an LP of it in the last year or so and they said it's only difficult in that it's an easy JRPG and as such, especially if you were raised on FF, you try to play it more seriously and make it more difficult for yourself. I guess it's a variation of overestimating something..

SMRPG Amageddon is AMAZING. It's basically a completely different game but it has the same charm and is really difficult unlike the original which is one of the easiest RPGs out there. Max level increased, better balancing, huge post game, it's what we've all been waiting for. Version 8 (the biggest and best by far) will be released soonish, and 7.9 is the most recent release currently.

The thing about FF is that it's hard if you hoard your items, and they're usually piss easy if you actually use them, considering at the end game you'll have like 20 Megalixers or whatever and never even use them.
