Yes, but 5 had a serious problem of not having the time to smell the roses. It has tons of minor detail to it but it's so subtle you don't notice it, and the lack of exploring for weapons and pickups which was fun as hell in everything pre-4 was a major blow to the series.

I guess I do sort of agree since FFVI is usually the one that people choose just to go "Yeah, all those new Final Fantasies are overrated shit, good thing FFVI is great, right?"

It's a great game, but sadly it's become the whole "fuck the majority, this one is my favorite because everyone likes VII and after" game, to the point where it seems like anyone will probably shit on you for saying something positive about VII and after, and also shit on you for saying any flaw of VI.

VI is really sort of like that entry level indie album (Which is probably one of those that everyone circlejerks over anyways) that you listen to because everyone said you had to hate mainstream music now.
