I can read manga and play games fine.
I need to get a bit faster with reading so that I can watch anime with Japanese subs. Without those I tend to overhear too much.

There is no game I really need, there are plenty in languages I can actually speak, but if I were able to conquer the whole galaxy in a Legend of the Galactic Heroes I cam, I'd really be happy.

Also it's downright criminal that all the Slayers games, aside from one, are still not translated. I swear there's some kind of curse on these titles since the English version of PC98 was never finished and the one on SNES finally surfaced after a lot of hardships.

He's referring to Dragon Slayer II: Xanadu and Scenario II (both in English), which aren't Legend of Xanadu I and II (both are considered separate branches of the Dragon Slayer franchise).

Probably never as it's pretty niche, even by Gundam standards. Built like Civilization, but with more menus and more text.

From what I've gathered it's the constant stream of menus that would be the biggest constant as to why the series never had a dedicated fan translation team.

Seems to be waaaay better than the first game on the SNES. Some people actually translated the fighting game.

Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir.

The SNES version of Famicom Detective Club Part II: The Girl who Stands Behind was translated by Tomato (of Mother 3 fame) and it was a damn good mystery game. I'd love to see a translation of part 1 some day.

There's untold fortunes of good suspense and detective games on the PCE and PC'88. The only problem is the complete non-existence of a centralized community of english speaking gaijin to possibly push for translations.

Policenauts is as high profile of a translation that's ever been done, and even then, hardly anyone knows about it and that's a Kojima game. I hoped in the late 2000's/early '10s and the popularity of games like Phoenix Wright and all the PSP VN's getting localized, we would've gotten a renewed interest in some classic titles by a more mainstream popularity.

Never happened. So games like DotB will go untranslated except by one dude who's been translating it to French for close to four years.

It really is an unforgettable experience.
I wonder how much the DS version differentiates from the PS2 version, as I can't see a translation being too difficult using the DS port as the base. Then again, I don't see anyone bothering, considering the game already exists in the west and the demand isn't exactly high. Maybe some day.
