I'm sure I'm alone here, but... a 3D rendition of Final Fantasy II reworked into a full-blown SaGa game. Character combos, more elaborate skill levels that give characters affinities with certain elements, sparking techniques, etc.

Would love to see cel-shaded models that bear a close resemblance to Amano's original artwork. Make them realistically proportionate as well.

One possible idea for the combo system is to borrow the spell fusion mechanic from Chrystal Chronicles. When more than one party member prepares to cast the same spell, they get linked together to form higher-tier spells like Fira, Firaga, etc. The damage could be based on the tier of the spell fusion along with the median value of each caster's skill level corresponding to that spell's element.

As for me, I'd love to see a 3D remake of Chrono Trigger, that rebalances it to be less easy, but I don't trust modern SE not to fuck it up.

Super Mario RPG is a great game, but prerendered CGI does not age well.

I don't why I expected people to not get their their panties in a knot if I have a different opinion than them. I love Chris's work on TOME, Parody Rangers, The SMRPG Music videos and just his art in general.

The picture I attatched is a better example at what I'm getting at.

Even if you don't like prerendered CGI, you don't have to cling onto the first bad animator that comes along. SMRPG could translate well into 2D animation, but this thing you're posting barely qualifies as such. It's done in a terrible flash quality where deformities and shitty animation is excused because "it's my style lel".

The choppy animation and terrible anatomy and proportions are not just "opinion", Rawest Forest is full of demonstrable horrible, horrible art with no shading and deformed anatomy that's not respectful at all to SMRPG's style.

No serious producer would ever consider remaking a game with such a terrible style.

Besides that, and remakes that change minor plot points that I don't like, my big dream is a full-colour Wario Land remake. Potentially including 2, but not 3. Just Wario taking on a horde of pirates and exploring, without any backtracking or worlds in trinkets.

Possibly using the health bar from WL4/Shake It. Using either game's graphical style would be great.

What I really want are detailed versions of the treasures and cutscenes. Especially the opening where Wario chases after and topples a pirate ship using only a tiny rowboat. Also, lots of branches and cool secrets to find in the stages.

Then make the bosses harder, maybe make some subquests longer (I.e. getting the flute), or add some mini-dungeons with non-essential rewards (graveyard?), and maybe revamp the dungeon design - less key collecting/ button pushing, and more environmental puzzles to fit the theme of abandoned and derelict dungeons.

Also removing the handholding found in the DX version (which has about twice as many hints as the original, and removed pretty much any challenge).

Link's Awakening is a wonderful game, but it can still be improved upon. And that is, I think, the key to a worthwhile remake.

Toriyama has a great working relationship with SE, though. He did designs for DQH:TWTWATBB just this year and DQX last year.

Come to think of it, he also did designs and wrote the story for DBZ:XV this year, too, do is not like it's particularly difficult to get him to do video game work (even if it's just a way for him to plug Jaco, his new shitty thing).

I would like a remake of C&C: Tiberian Dawn. Done in a style similar to Company of Heroes, but with more units and less of a focus on preserving everyone.

I feel like C&C always had issues with infantry in their games, partially due to the fact that there was no way to have them move and engage intelligently, and partially due to how fragile they are for their costs. Minigunners can only fire one tile away, while grenadiers and flamethrower units explode on death and wipe out any surrounding infantry. Rocket troops are actually pretty good, but have a high price tag and are still easily crushed and have very little movement speed. Vehicles cost far too little, so most people just massed tanks of some sort, and the airgame wasn't as big of deal as it could've been.

That said, I usually played C&C for the story and the tricky campaign missions, not for the multiplayer balance and flow.

Also, I meant the comment more in relation to CoH's engine, it's paramount that you preserve troops on there for veterancy and resources. Can't usually afford to replace a whole squad.
