I've managed to get just over 600k pretty regularly. My highest is around 700k, though.

That being said, this particular machine had three top scores with strange glitchy symbols. They next level, or was that tomfoolery?

how high do you have to get to reset the score? I played this a ton on namco museum back in the day but I only ever got as high as 70000 or so.

I like that Space Harrier and After Burner award score for distance traveled as well as enemies shot down. It's especially important in After Burner, where going faster will give you a better score.

Most any shoot-'em-up would qualify. I'm a sucker for Gauntlet as well.

fun fact... i worked in an arcade back in the day when this came out. There was a bug in the game where you would rapidly swing the jetfighter stick right and left while it was in the 'preview' mode. The jet would swing left and right after doing so for like 10-15 seconds and you could continue playing. No score or anything, but you could still play as if you'd paid.

The game's fun but the controls feels a little sluggish compared to G88.
