ITT: Games only you have played
Good job Anon you sure are the only person to play a Gundam game. Way to go finding such an obscure hidden gem.
>>2827121
lol, NES, what a casual.
FM-7 gundam is way better!
I never hear anybody talk about this game. It was possibly the closest thing the NES got to Elder Scrolls.
- First-person view
- Real-time action
- Craft spells from runes instead of memorizing predefined spells
Just be sure to look up a copy of the manual before you play. Basic actions such as equipping items or crafting spells isn't very intuitive.
We had two of those threads the last month. Doesn't work. We want to talk about Doom all day on this board, okay? And emulation on the PSP.
>>2828174
He's right you know.
>>2827121
I haven't played that one, but Hot Scramble on Famicom is pretty fun.
>>2827129
congraturation, you really are the turbo nerd
I have never seen pic related talked about here so I'm going to assume that no has ever played it and I'm the only one:^). Picked it up cheap at a retro game store probably ten years back or so and I'm really glad I did. What a fantastic Saturn title! Tight controls, great gameplay, and your a fucking walking mech! What's not to like?
Only gripe I have is the draw distance is really bad(like most games of that generation) and it's short but other than that it's a very solid 3d Saturn game.
>>2828567
Forgot to mention. They did make a sequel that never left Japan. Never played it but the videos I have seen online look dope.
So shitty, so tedious, so boring. Probably the worst PS1 game I have ever played, and I still own a copy. I loved E.T. as a kid for some reason, so when this came out in 2002(!) I was pretty hyped up. Bought it as soon as possible.
The gameplay is basically just "float this object on top of a button, and the door opens/ramp lowers/something happens". Everything is about buttons, switches, and springs, and you can never place the floating object where you want it. Your attack is some weird red sonar wave that you spam at enemies constantly to no avail. No music. Endless loading times. Ugly animations. Everything feels like a tile-based boardgame even though it isn't. Enemies are overpowered, and waaaay too fast compared to you.
It could've been a cool story-based game, but all we get is a laggy intro cutscene of a spaceship landing. I would play the 2600 game over this any day, because at least that one has a certain retro charm. The PS1 game is just shit.

Gameplay:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUoiqUj07dU
And I didn't know what I was doing when I was younger. Bought it from gamestop.
>TFW realizing clearanced cartridge games on display had no instructions
Never seen or heard of anyone playing this.
>>2828785
>it's actually a great game
Please abandon your contrarianism.
>>2828814
He was talking the ps1 game not the 2600 one.
2600 version is decent.
>>2828817
ah yeah didn't see the post
>>2828774
It got a bit of coverage in the past years, but from very few sources (HG101, random small youtubers, small forums etc.)
I loved the artstyle and got a mint, cheap copy of it to play along with a friend who's more fluent than me at japanese. We managed to follow the game for a while, but we're too slow to fully enjoy it yet. The japanese intro with an english dub is hilarious, we couldn't even understand it was english for a whole minute.
Kind of kiddie, but I remember having enough fun to finish it. No one I've ever mentioned it to has any idea what I'm talking about.
>>2827129
>Super Famicom is NES now
>>2827121
You're not even the only english speaker to play this game.
>>2828521
>Zeon did nothing wrong
Yeah, bullshit.
>But thats not Wing, Seed or 00 so it doesn't exist for "tru fans of gundams fans that even build one 1/144 kit!" fans fans
Fans fans of Gundam fans fans UC Storyline fans fans don't exist to those fans fans? Fans fans UC Storyline fans fans don't think fans fans of Wing fans Seed fans 00 fans fans exist either fans fans.
>>2828785
So I've heard. I guess someone played it as their first 2600 game without knowing the limitations of the console first. I honestly can't imagine it being worse than my experience with the PS1 game, no matter how simplistic it is.
Just wanted to add this about the PS1 game: I read somewhere that if you manage to beat the game, it plays the intro cutscene again... in reverse. Nice.
>>2828571
America did get Gungriffin Blaze, for PS2 and Gungriffon Allied Strike for Xbox. I know this since I love me some mech games and have them sitting next to me.
>>2828774
I see it mentioned here on /vr/ a lot. No one ever played it though. I'm a huge Silent Hill fan, so the whole creepy town vibe and Twin Peaks atmosphere makes me so angry it wasn't localized for westerners.
>>2829028
Yeah I knew they made some later Gungriffon games but never played them. How good are they? The sequel I was referring to was also a Saturn game. Here's a gameplay vid of the sequel. Pretty impressive for a Saturn title.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KeOVZXEvSgM
Only game I haven't been able to make an active /vr/ thread for.
>>2829467
this looks like something ullillia would make
One of my favorites from back in the day. Almost never mentioned in roguelike or dungeon crawler threads.I was a filthy casual, so I loved maxing my stats and blasting through everything like a god.
>>2828521
>But thats not Wing, Seed or 00 so it doesn't exist for "tru fans of gundams fans that even build one 1/144 kit!" fans fans
Are you pretending to be fucking retarded right now? UC era is the main cash cow for Gundam in Japan.
>>2829142
I enjoyed them. And if I remember right, they were rather inexpensive to say the least. Decent controls, combat, etc.
>>2829504
I build Gunpla and UC is best Century, I agree with you completely.
never heard much about this
>>2827143
But is it fun?
The Forgotten: It begins
Has ANYONE played this game like ever?
Remember How things work in Busy town? I thought the game was pretty damn fun, also it's from 1994, so it's definitely retro
>>2829037
I actually played it and made some comments about it. The game is full of awesome ideas that are not executed well, I mean most of the time the only thing you do in the game is driving your super slow car from one part of the city to another part and try to trigger the next event. It's also full of bugs and freezing problems, so finishing the game is a pain in the ass...
Never beat it tho
>>2831807
It was called something else where I lived, can't remember what. Too bad it ain't retro, i've never seen anyone talk about it.
nobody in my network of friends knows what Splatterhouse is except the one that came out last gen.
Loved this game as a kid, never so much as heard about it without searching for it on Google
>>2828752
Played this as a kid on one of those 150-in-1 game cartridges. Was good fun. Never got past the fourth stage.
>>2828883
Great game. Dat classic lucasarts humor. Only problem is its a fuckin labyrinth. There's no map to remember which planets you've been to and once there's 50+ planets ur pretty fucked if you forgot where a certain item is. It doesn't help that there's no completed walkthroughs online and I'm not gonna watch the longplay on YouTube since that'll take forever.
Still, good game.
>>2831994
I did, it was decentyou're the big bad with amnesia
>>2829467
I loved this game
>>2827125
wow, rude
>>2828774
is there an english translation
>>2831807
>Treasure game
obviously
>>2835226
Maybe it is a hidden Treasure?
Bonus points if you guess the system.
>>2835297
Sharp image
>>2835297
that's a pretty common Sega CD game tho
>>2835297
More like Sol Feces
>>2832007
this shit is reaction image gold
>>2827121
>ITT: Games everyone played but kids just learned about on youtube
I'm not the only one who played it because someone here told about this game, then I got curious and read the manga and watched the anime. Had some good laughs with all the nonsense, thank you anon.
>>2832007
Nice beat'em up.
Was it just me?
I'm probably the only one who remembers that the complete Turok series was available on the GBC.
Stronghold for MS-DOS, my favourite strategy game.
>>2838010
>I'm probably the only one who remembers that the complete Turok series was available on the GBC.
um no. it was pretty popular on GBC
>>2828752
i still have this game lol, i loved it
>>2838010
I had the 3rd one and thought it was pretty okay. Good music.
back in the days of the amiga 1200
never met anyone who had even HEARD of this game.
>>2838729
I played that.
Didn't care for it.
Has anyone else here ever played this?
>>2838729
It's like they couldn't even figure out what they wanted to parody
>>2838729
Yeah I played this one too. My clueless dad rented this.
>>2835306
Kek
Played it when I was a kid, took me forever and a week to dl a few months ago because no seeds
It's weird and a bit too hard for me.
>>2828581
They had 20 YEARS.
Were they actively TRYING to make a bad game?
>>2843776
anyone that has even a remote interest in Japanese only SuFami games has played Gon
>>2835295
Very sadly it is both largely hidden and by Treasure, but is very very far from a hidden treasure. Aside from maybe Guardian Heroes Advance it's their worst game.
>>2827121
I've still never run into anyone else around here who's played either Arctic Fox, 3Demon or Bad Street Brawler.
>>2837386
Loved TimeStalker!
>>2843776
The manga was great
It plays almost like Steel Horizon on the PSP / NDS.
>>2827143
My cousin had this when we were kids, wanna say around 1991? Don't remember rmuch except there being an empty-ass castle I could never find my way through.
>>2829486
This game sucks. Universally panned in its day.
>>2837386
I liked this game. More than I should have?
>>2838729
This shit was ported on Genesis I think.
>>2831807
It was kinda bullshit that the technique required to properly beat the game is never actually mentioned in the game itself.
>>2838895
no, i played that one. I beat it actually.
>>2838729
Played it at snes iirc
