Post comfy JRPG's
>>2807367
I'm just going to post the rest of the Slayers RPGs, because I can.

warning for freaky 3D renders

and I'm done.
normal thread operation can resume

I've never played a Slayer's RPG.
Which one is the best to start with?
Transalted only of course I don't speak Japanese.
>>2807380
The only one that has been translated is the SNES one.
I've played all of them to the end, except for Slayers Wonderful. I kind of need to restart that one though.
>>2807384
>>2807380
SNES one is notable for being the only Slayers I've seen were Nagas boobs make sense. (They look like fucking ballons attached to her body in the anime)
>>2807384
People need to start translating PS1 games already.
I'd even donate to a translation team for that. Not much like 1 dollar but still
>>2807386
There's a butt-load of text in them though. The Saturn (they're also available on PS1) SRPGs are borderline VN.
Then there's Wonderful which is PS1 only and more of a classic JRPG (has FF7 style battles too), but that one still has lots of text really.

>(They look like fucking ballons attached to her body in the anime)
someone watched bennet the sage
>>2807396
nah, I just formed that opinion on my own the first time I set my gaze on them.
>>2807386
That Policenauts translation is like the only thing that comes to mind, what is it with PS1 onwards being so supposedly difficult to work with? So many great games are still sitting completely untranslated with not even a hope.

>what is it with PS1 onwards being so supposedly difficult to work with?
I'm not convinced it's that much more complex, just for the longest time nostalgia was for 2D games like on the SNES/SFC and it's only recently changing.
That's my theory.

Obligatory EarthBound reference.
I forgot about the PC-98 game. I've yet to beat that one.
This one would probably be pretty easy to translate, disregarding massive amounts of text.
I guess for an original light-novel it's not wierd that the games get text-heavy.
Have some more Slayers.
Monitoring this thread. Just finished vol 1 of the Slayers LN, looking forward to continuing, and will look into the SNES game.

Are you the same guy from /v/ saying this?
Because I am literally on episode two right now.
What I would like is for the PS1 and sega saturn JRPG's to get translated.Including slayers
Trying to get into the Slayers series after finishing the Lodoss OVA and TV show, but it hasn't snagged me yet. Tell you what, though, I'm enjoying the sufami Lodoss rpg a lot more than I thought I would.
Does anyone know how to get the Dragonslave spell for Lina in Slayers Wonderful?
I played that game and finished it using a FAQ, but the FAQ was just a straight path and I'm guessing it missed a lot of things. I know for sure it has to be something special, because you don't get it by leveling like every other spell. There is a combination attack for the Double Dragonslave with Lina and Sylphiel, but no regular Dragonslave for Lina.
There's a route split midway through the game, and at some point I thought maybe that had something to do with getting the spell, but I could only follow the route specified in the FAQ, I tried the other once and couldn't figure what to do. I swear the game is so fucking obscure that I found a play-through on Nico once, and the uploader stopped right at the route split point.
Didn't even know there were Slayers games.
I remember...Nunza, the fish man.
Time to bring the thread back on rails.

I'm still surprised both Suikogaiden games got translated. True, it was 13 years after release, but better late than never.
>>2807386
You need to learn Japanese instead.
>>2807374
Looks better than the FF7 popeye models

This guy started translating his Slayers Royal playthrough, so it's at least something.
I still can't believe that to this day there's only one Slayers game translated given the popularity of the series in the 90s.
>>2808976
Good thing that didn't exist when I was playing them.
Slayers Royal was the catalyst for me to start learning Japanese for real (as in I'd studied it before, but never tried to play any vidya in Japanese)
