I just bought a GBA SP AGS-101 to play my original gray GB carts again in full backlit glory and I'd like to talk about GB games, consoles, accessories, whatever. GB, GBC are welcome. I used to have the original DMG model and a GB Color, but the backlight trumps all for me.
I wanna get an everdrive GB, any experiences?
Anyone into fan translations? Been meaning to crack into cave noire soon.
What are your favorite games? I loved Motocross Maniacs back in the day and just bought MM2 as well as Mole Mania.

I'm picking up a GB Everdrive soon, hopefully it's good.
>Favorite games
Noobow, such a cute little adventure kinda game, japan only; doesn't require japanese though.
F-1 Race, classic game, fun gameplay, plays like outrun but racing.
Metal Gear Solid, actually own a physical copy of this but damn this game is fucking really good.

I haven't yet played through Ghost Babel but the sneaking looks a lot more fun with that overhead angle than in 3D to me. Not a fan of sneaking mechanics in general though.
Here's another one I want to pick up one day:

Sneaking mechanics in it are actually hella good, and whats that game?

Tail Gator.
Everdrive GB is fucking rad.
Here's another great game I'd like to pick up (played the rom extensively and picross DS too), gotta love how the alternative palette makes Mario seem so welcoming and friendly.
Super Game Boy is also welcome! What games had the best borders?
This is surely a contender I think:

Really nice boarder, my favorite so far. Makes decent use of the SGB in game, for a platformer at least. Also, one of the best soundtracks on GB/C.

This is why you should get an everdrive! I don't know how much interest I personally have in the megaman GB games but I know they're expensive.

Final Fantasy Adventure (Seiken Densetsu 1)
Final Fantasy Legend (Sa・Ga) trilogy
Zelda Link's Awakening (Yume wo Miru Shima)

Just get a GBA flashcart and use Goomba, it's much cheaper and wont stick out.
>>2803524
Not OP. I tried Gomba a few times but I heard it doesn't have that good of a compatibility. Also, I'm afraid it might be unstable. Did you ever have and freezes? Any saves getting deleted?
>>2803524
My main goal is just to casually pick up more real carts, the everdrive is a supplement. For expensive games and mainly for translation hacks. Eventually I would like a GBA flash cart also, but that's not my focus right now.
My favorite game is Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3, it was so much fun to play it as a kid with my sister. I feel that it's an underrated game. Please play it if you can.
>>2803567
But why a more expensive cart which does less?
I fucking love Belmont's Revenge and of course Super Mario Land 2 and Link's Awakening on the original Gameboy. On the Color, I loved MGS/MGGB.

If you like the overhead angle sneaking you'd probably like at least the MSX2 games which are included in most versions of MGS3. MGS1 and 2 are also top down view mostly.
Went through my GB roms and thought these boarders were pretty. I think I'll post more.

Certainly put more effort into it than Konami.
What's the best flashcart option for GBA right now? There's so many options it gets a bit overwhelming.
Also can I play Pokemanster hacks on them?
Got Pocket Bomberman the other day.
Fan-fucking-tastic game but WAY too short
I think I'm a retard for not doing my research after eons of not buying a cartridge.
I was searching for the port of Super Mario World and the one cartridge I found had the "pat pend made in Japan" on the back but the sticker on the front looked like shit and I thought it was a bootleg.
Oh, well.
Two things.
Should I go back for it? Is 80 dollars a good price for the GBA R4?
