Are you a chexmaster, /vr/?

Is that REALLY just a Doom reskin? Because I remember there being damaging floors in Doom, but no damaging floors in Chex Quest.

They were basically Doom WADs made to advertise cereal.

It ended up being combined together and finished later though.

This game was fucking awesome. I got it at an age when my hippie mom still wouldn't let me play violent video games, but "zapping" "flugelmonsters" or whatever the fuck was totally fine.

I didn't realize it was a Doom reskin until much later, which explains why it played so well.

As an adult I notice the game's shortness and relative lack of secrets but as a kid playing in 20 and 30 minute bursts it never bothered me.

10/10 would zap those slime bastards again

They were custom levels and sprites, from what I remember (WADs I guess? not involved in that scene).

One of the later levels did have damaging floors I'm pretty sure, I think it was level 5 or so that had a green slime river. It was like an underground canyon of some sort?

I fucking loved that game! underrated to say the least. You could tell the people who made it loved the project and knew what made a game fun. Gonna find a download. . .

Despite the name this actually contains all three of the canonical chex quest games and they use the ZDoom engine so it works on modern OSes.

There are. Some are unofficial CQ3s because it took quite a while for it to actually get completed.

With Doom, if you can think it there's a WAD about it most likely.
