Also there were so many scenes in C&D where the characters could use their specials to hit 6 enemies coming from 6 directions. It was great.

Mess is just as strong as Mustapha.

Mustapha and Mess just blow the other two characters away.

Jack is actually pretty decent. His slide comes out instantly with no pre-animations and goes under many attacks, and his command attack (down up attack) is reliable when cancelled into from a combo.

Hannah is garbage. The only thing she has over Jack is that her jab is like 1 pixel longer, which is completely irrelevant (on the other hand, Jack has better vertical coverage with his jab). Her command attack is worthless because the brunt of the damage is done in the 4th hit, yet the third hit knocks the enemies down when cancelled into from a combo or done from a grab. Considering that command attacks are only done in those 2 situations, so Hannah ends up doing less damage then the rest of the cast. In comparison, Mess plainly does more damage with everything, and Jack and Mustapha can cancel into their command moves whenever they want for juicier damage. That's not her biggest problem though, because command moves aren't even necessary. Her dashing attack gets interrupted more than the other characters which is the worst thing in the game. Ironically, she has the smallest "hurtbox" out of all the dashing attacks (while Mustapha and Jack have huge hurtboxes), but she's the only one who tends to get hit during her dashing attack.

They were banking on player laziness to temper out his usefulness. Remember, unless you actually go through the effort to get a decent amount of rages for him he actually underperforms quite a bit.

Now, Edgar? Fuck if I know. I was the laziest asshole alive my first playthrough as far as buying tools and whatnot. He still managed to completely mop the floor with random mooks and even the occasional boss.
