Either he left them for other collectors or he is a bit slow in the mind. I'd buy literally any prototype if it were cheap enough, and since this was at a junk sale where they were apparently sold as standard games I'd imagine they were pretty damn cheap.

This is likely just a dramatized falsehood created to make the writer seem lucky, gain praise. In all likelihood, the person who has this promo, did not find it at a flea market, rather they had it for a long time and just recently realized the click-profit to be made. And here we are. This provides ample reasoning as to why he doesn't possess 'Mario 2', or the other promo that was supposedly there as well.

I assume he plans to sell it since he has an email set up. If I had some idea of what he wanted for it, I'd probably sell off some of my arcade boards to purchase it. Unfortunately I wouldn't be surprised if he wants something stupid like $10k. I'd also not be surprised if there isn't much too it beyond what he's already shown.
