What ist he best leaked game you've played?
Is anyone still hoping that a game gets leaked and dumped?

Personally I'm hopinh for two GBC games, Tyrannosaurus Tex and Katakis 3D.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qb886SUrw7U

Hülsbeck recently streamed Katakis 3D for an hour or more. Game seems to be completed and working fine. Pls, Hülsbeck, dump it for me.
>>
Nightmare Busters is pretty fun. Though apparently nowadays the original creators are selling it.
>>
>>2786462
Its also not retro so it has no bearing here.
>>
>>2786465
Actually the original publisher, Nichibutzu apparently didn't have much hand in it.
>unfinished game, leaked before reproduction started
>not retro
You might be more of a faggot than the faggot who got it wrong.
>>
>>2786465
It's on snes. The ios release is literally an emulator + rom.
>>
>>2786506
It's on mobile now? Huh, I thought this was only emulator/flashcart and repo from SFT only.
>>
>>2786465
>programed in the 90's
>for the SNES
>even got leaked
>finally released in twenty first century
>on the SNES
>not retro
>>
>>2786450
Katakis 3D looks fucking awesome. I'd willingly pay for an official repro cart.

Starfox 2 is probably THE best, but I have a soft spot for RESQ on the Genesis - neat little Blaster Master style thing with a rescue team theme. Also stuff like Sunman and Bio Force Ape on the NES that are so enjoyably cheesy.

Really I'd love Socks the Cat and Warlock of the Fates/Lost Odyssey Pinball out of the hands of the whoreders, maybe Marble Madness 2 also. Though I also beleeb one day we will witness Yeah Yeah Beebiss I. It must exist. It deserves to exist.
>>
>>2786450
>That whole Tyrannosaurus Tex article

Holy shit this is interesting as fuck, being genuine here. Crazy how the dude just skipped town. Thanks for the share OP.

Hopefully one day... I actually talked to a few guys that worked on it. From the sounds of it we'll never play this gem
>>
Maybe they'll leak the finished version of StarFox 2 some day. That would be nice.
>>
>>2788471
Apparently the new one uses a lot of elements from 2.
>>
>>2788898
Yeah, but it's not StarFox 2.
>>
I'm rather curious about the mother 3 n64 prototype
>>
Not better than StarFox 2, but worth a mention.

You probably thought your conditioned response sounded better in your head. Kill yourself my man.

I've had a lot of fun with friends playing the Toejam and Earl 3 dreamcast leak if that counts.

From the "not leaked yet" category:

>SimRefinery is a computer management simulation game designed to simulate Chevron Corporation's refinery operation. It was developed by Maxis in 1993.

>SimRefinery was developed by Maxis after the success of SimCity. After rejecting several requests from companies, the team eventually agreed to make a prototype for Chevron. In the words of Will Wright:

>"[SimRefinery was] a simulation of their refinery operation, for orienting people in the company as to how a refinery works. It wasn't so much for the engineers as it was for the accountants and managers who walked through this refinery every day and didn't know what these pipes were carrying."

>The user's role in the simulation was the plant manager of a refinery. One of the things the user learned was about supply and demand and how it affects the financial situation.

>As a commissioned business aid, it was not made available to the public.
>>
>>2792812
I doubt this even exists beyond the SpaceWorld "demo", to be perfectly honest.
>>
>>2786450
I'm still waiting on a leak on the finished version of Starfox 2
that on that MK knockoff with more gore and nudity
>>
>>2786450
is there a publicly playable build of resident evil 1.5? i'd love to play through whatever actually got made of that.
>>
>>2786465
A+ Troll
>>
>>2796798
Yeah, as well as a whole several-years-long project to get the leaked version into the state of a playable game. The untouched leak is available, but as far as I know it's really buggy and not really all that playable, but there's a few beta releases of the touch up already.

>>2786450
Since Sonic Xtreme got leaked and rebuilt, there's not much else I'm hoping for in terms of 'holy grails' (apart from maybe the Battlefront 3 alpha that several people already have copies of, but that's not retro).
>>
>>2786450
It's shit, but I've still got my fingers crossed a dump of Primal Rage 2.
>>
>>2788471
Dylan Cuthbert allegedly has a finished ROM, but given he's Miyamoto's son in law or some shit I doubt he'll leak it.
>>
>>2786450
It's in your picture, OP.
>>
>>2796414
One or two protocartridges may exist. I doubt they never printed one to do tests with. Based on footages I can assume that when the project was canceled they had some finished area
>>
I still hope that some of Midas planed GBC games get leaked.

This is the holy grail of unreleased games to me (alongside Saturn Shenmue). Only like 2 people outside of Sega have seen it and confirmed it exists. I want to know what the Saturn can really do in the right hands with a lot of experience with the system.

There's a good write up on it here - http://assemblergames.com/l/threads/virtua-fighter-3-shenmue-on-sega-saturn.41476/ if anyone's interested.
>>
>>2799762
>750,000 polygons
>30fps
>on a Saturn

God damn AM2 were coding GODS.
>>
>>2799403
Sorry, I'm not all that familiar with this kind of stuff, but why is emuparadise bad for PSX ISOs?
>>
>>2799767
Sounds like bullshit to me. You know Ridge Racer R4 only does around 50 000 per second right?

A lot of people back then were lying about the number of polygons their games could do.

VDP1 physically lacks the fill rate to handle so many polygons.
>>
>>2799830
Though there is actual footage of Shenmue for saturn, which looks pretty good.
>>
>>2799853
Actual footage of Shenmue running on Saturn development kits, not the Saturn console.
>>
>>2788471
>>2796910

What, so the current Snes rom isn't the finished version?

I thought it was like 99% complete, more or less complete... ?
>>
>>2799865
http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2015/05/a_totally_complete_version_of_star_fox_2_really_does_exist

Ah right, GODDAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!
>>
>>2799864
Are you trying to say they made a shit ton of assets without any intention for it to be playable on a real system? There's footage from Shenmue 2 in the video, they were far as fuck in development. Of course its playable.
>>
>>2799893
I'm sure that somewhere out there, either locked up at Sega, stored away in a developer's closet, or lost in the piles of prototypes owned by a random Japanese game collector otaku. there exists a Saturn CD-R holding a build of the game.
>>
>>2799893
That's usually how it works. Sort of.

For example, developers will create higher resolution source textures than a console can handle and will downsample those textures when its time to getting it running on the real box.

First you have to get it speculatively get it right on your developments kits and then you pare the damn thing down until it runs alright on the console.
>>
>>2799830
It supposedly used a 3D accelerator cartridge like the RAM cart. Obviously I have no idea if that's true or not, but it is interesting. I just wish we knew! A video, as screen shot, anything would be nice.
>>
>>2799864
To my knowledge there's no evidence out there that it's running on a development kit, IIRC someone at AM2, maybe Suzuki himself said that it was running on a stock Saturn console. Of course we'll never really know unless someone breaks into SEGA headquarters and steals it. Anyone up for it?
>>
>>2799767
I'd have to see this to believe it because the port for VF2 on the Saturn was already pushing the system at its limits to maintain 60FPS and I highly doubt they'd be able to get something better than the arcade version of that if they cut the framerate in half. Sega made a good call not releasing VF3 until much better hardware was available.
>>
>>2799780
Not him but most isos on emuparadise are notably bad rip. Also I think it's against board rules to post link to warez but I'm not really sure about that
>>
>>2799918
>It supposedly used a 3D accelerator cartridge like the RAM cart
Are you assuming, or did you hear that somewhere? If the latter, may I ask where, if you remember?
That would be interesting to see. Makes me curious what type of hardware would be inside of the cartridge.

Perhaps some of the stuff used in their arcade hardware, like this DSP from the Model 2B arcade board.
>>
>>2799881
Wish they'd just release it. It's finished, it's their own game, no licensing problems, so why not?
>>
>>2801698

Because there ARE licensing problems. They don't hold copyright over the Super FX technology, it was licensed from the company that developed it, who've gone under by now. That's why Star Fox and the SNES version of Yoshi's Island, among others, haven't and won't pop up on Virtual Console. It's a shame but at least we have the proto, which is pretty great as it is.

Where would I get good rips? Isozone? romdepot?
>>
>>2802769
If you're looking for proper PS1 isos you're probably looking at something like the TOSEC or redump releases. I don't want to recommend one over the other because I'm actually pretty under read up on them, if someone could chime in with some pros and cons for them that'd be great

Project Dream. I think the developer even found a rom awhile ago and wanted to do something with it.
