They need to do less opinionated reviews
But really, who cares when there are roms just a few clicks away.

The whole website's a work of passion, but that's something of a problem. The editorials are a little too generous to the games they're covering and at their worst are full fanboy. They could easily trim some of the fat by just having an editor that moderates things before release - someone who can keep a game's appraisal in perspective; We've all seen how spergish some of those reviews can be, especially the SCHMUP ones.

How about some members here start a blog?
I think a /vr/ blog sounds great...unless its filled with memes and reddit tier posting

What is wrong with HG101? I like most of their articles and reviews. Although I must confess I don't know much about its writers.

Burn it down and salt the earth. Kalata's shown to be beyond redemption at this point. It used to be cool back in the mid to late 00's, but nowadays wikis can and most often do provide better information without the editorial bullshit of the caliber of "the gaming experience you'll get out of it may leave you fascinated for the renaming of your life"

Get a decent editor. Their articles are all over the place quality wise. AT their best you have their Japanese computer article, as their worst you have their Valis and Dragon Quest articles which are two of the worst pieces of shit ever published.

I think the site has some interesting stuff myself, but I've certainly noticed a whole bunch of misinformation and inaccuracies on articles about games I know well.

I enjoyed the Golly Ghost article, I've been telling my friends for years about the game because of the cool gimmick, your article will hopefully get it some more exposure.

As for a general suggestion for HG101 writers, just stay away from putting political and social views in video game-related articles - there's a place for that stuff, and it's called Polygon (or Gamasutra, take your pick).

I usually take a look there to see some obscure arcade or japanese computer shit, I never had problems with the site. Kusoge articles are pretty weak tho, I don't even remember the last one which made me laugh
