I used to play this game called Power Leauge V. On tg 16. If you get a chance give it a try. I believe it was called Sporting News Baseball on SNES, but the TG16 version is better.

It's fairly hard and you don't get to fuck the relief pitcher.
Great also made the Doki Doki Pretty League series with 6 games on the PC-98 and 3 on the PS1 which has some extra adventure elements.
