IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE?
>>2766760
ebin
Yes.
consoles still came with rf cables right up to the dreamcast and ps2
so theoretically you could play those on your game gear screen, too.
>>2766816
I need to figure out how
I actually used mine as a camera monitor for a jib crane. It was the cheapest option I had
to use the game gear as a monitor? why would that not be possible?
It's a little surprising you can do it without modifying the hardware though.
>>2766824
You need a tv tuner adapter, and a stereo rca to 3.5mm headphone chord
I'd rather have it the other way around.
>>2766760
Yes
The question is why
>>2766856
I thought the SMS didn't have the colour palette to properly run GG games. Source?
>>2766760
This angers me.
>>2766760
That TV tuner adapter blew my mind back in the day.
>>2766760
>IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE?
duh
You can play pretty much whatever you want on the game gear thanks to that TV Tuner.
>>2766816
How much does the TV add on cost? I have an RF cable for my Dreamcast laying around and really wanna try this.
That's real fuckin' neato, kid.
>>2767172
A couple bucks. They're fairly useless since the screen sucks ass nearly as much as it sucks batteries.
>>2766760
>not playing TurboGrafx-16 games on a Wii U connected to a TurboExpress with TurboVision using an RF modulator
>>2766824
The TV tuner has an a/v composite input.
>>2767417
Huh. That would be one way to do it.
Of course you can do this it is also the only way I watch my blurays too
>>2766760
Fuck you mod, you inconsistent twat. My post was on topic.
You can't control MegaMan with the GameGear. You still need to do it with the NES controller.
And there still is no sonic after we die.
>>2768886
How is that on topic? You also can't control it with your frogs wang. Something that was also not said by anyone. Sperging out over a sperg post getting deleted is extreme spergism.
>>2767321
AND the Analog signals were turned off back in 2009.
>>2766760
not only is that possible but you can easily mod the tv tuner to get digital signals.
I remember a dude browsing 4chan from an NES, somehow. Does anyone have the screencaps of that thread?
>>2769261
There WAS a famicom modem, so anything is possible depending on the program used. It might have been a passthrough, but wouldn't it be neat if it was period hardware?
>>2769227
This. I still watch tv on my gamegear on the bus to work every morning.
>>2769227
How? I didn't find anything on google.
>>2766816
..so if you find RF antenna adapters you can essentially play the game wireless...?
>>2769174
>not being a europoor/shitamerican/asian, half of blackfrica is still waiting for analog.
>>2769498
No, because you'd still need a controller.
>>2769963
>not having wireless controllers

>Y splitter
>red and yellow from NES
>Y connector
>into the Game Gear TV Tuner
>connect into headphone jack
>receives picture
I don't know if that's how it works, but that's what it looks like from the pic.
Guys is there a way to play game gear like a console? I have a large library of games but playing on the game gear is difficult.
>>2772560
All these fucking retro console clones and not one of them can play a game gear game.
>>2772560
Build one. Take a game gear, install a GGTV board, connect a 9-pin controller port to the button contacts and use a genesis or master system controller with it.
I built one last winter. The hardest part is making it fit in a case nicely. There isn't a "for dummies" guide on this, but everything you need to know can be found online.
>>2766760
You'd still need to use the NES controller for input if that's what you were wondering. Just sending NES output to the adapter doesn't seem too 'holy shit' to me.
>>2772560
emulators.
>>2772676
someone on youtube reused a Master System II case for the GGTV because the mainboard was dead
my father used the av input to film at weddings and vacations. He would put the camera on a tripod and use a remote that could move the camera from side to side and control the zoom and stuff. All while sitting comfortably in a chair with the Game Gear in his hands
>>2772550
More like one of those headphone to RCA cords. Looks like a custom job desu.
>>2772974
>>2773968
Shits in moonspeak but this is pretty cool

>>2774437
Seems to be down. Probably using the machine to emulate some GG games. kek
>>2774610
I've seen that gizmo before senpai, if i remember right its actually a real GG in a new case. The guy got a gorillion requests to make more but he said it was too big of a pain it the ass so the only one that exists belongs to his friend
>>2775196
Shame I can't get the page to load. There are thousands of consolized GGs around. I'd love to see this "only one that exists" version.
>>2772676
Thanks anon
