Gym leader challenge in the battle resort. You go trough multiple floors each representing various gyms from across the series. Eight floors before you reach the champion which is Ryuki or other NPCs. The floors are different each time. This is just speculation though.

My guess is some kind of gym simulator building in the new Malie spot (you can see what looks vaguely like the gym symbol on the roof), perhaps daily challenge against a random past gym, or even make your custom gym, but that's a little hopeful I think.

It's a new facility mentioned in the trailer. It changes to any gym from the past games you have to fight all the trainers in it to move to the next gym room.

It's a new facility, you have to deposit your Pokemon in the trash can to proceed. and once you complete the facility you can choose whether you want to leave them in there or not.
