How to regain interest in pokemon again?

do you like competitive battling? have you filled the dex yet? i did that in gen 6 and it made me like pokemon again. in this gen its like ive done everything there is to do, but competitive is still fun.

I also got into competitive in gen 6, but gen 7 absolutely murdered it by removing the PSS, NO ONE plays SM online because of the festival plaza, and Battle Spots for some reason only has Japs. Does no one in the west play Battle Spot? Why?

Anyway, 6 got me into competitive, but 7 killed that too.
