remember when we thought z crystals and z moves were synergy bursts or that they made Pokemon fuse with their trainer (hence ash greninja)? Would you have liked it better if they were fusion stones?

GF doesn't know how to make a concise universe, and they never consider borrowing from previous games - I'm honestly surprised they've removed so few features. I wouldn't be surprised if they changed the gen 8 games into a minigame hub-world and removed a bunch of Pokémon instead of making it a full-on mainline title.
