I'll probably get all the Tumblr SJW stereotypes thrown at me for saying this here, but...

I'd like starters that aren't as excessively gendered as Gen 7. Hypermasculine macho man, hyperfeminine singing lady, and awkward gender-neutral kid feels more like some kind of "CHOOSE YOUR GENDER" than it does a set of Starter Pokemon.

Anything not Grass, Fire and Water.
