Why are they all such inexperienced trainers?

They all go to a Pokémon School but barely take classes that actually involve battling and exploring the environment of where Pokémon live. Every episode almost always take place in the same place with the same scenery and the same cast of characters, and the same Pokémon because only two of them actually own more than 1 Pokémon and one of them barely appears to begin with, it's so fucking boring.

I'd rather COTDs coming with a variety of different Pokémon debuting or appearing. We see the same few Pokémon every fucking episode and if it's a new one, it barely gets any focus. There are so few secondary characters that it's hard to grasp the fact that they are on a huge island going to a huge school with iterally 1 teacher.

Because SM really is more of a Pokemon slice of life series than a battling/questing one. The best comparison I can make is the Powerpuff Girls reboot, which turned an action series into slice of life with some action, but also made a drastic and terrible change to the series's art style.
