It really doesn't, Primarina is not a mega and you can use it with Mega Manectric/Latias/Aerodactyl/Sharpedo/Beedrill etc. and has more power and a better coverage. It's going to see less usage for sure (unless Mega Gardevoir gets banned) but that's it

Your forgetting the bigger picture here. Decidueye can one shot prima, while prima needs to take two turns. And even if prima is scarfed, Decidueye can just sucker punch.

Depends on the set but the most popular one has a higher chance of Primarina surviving and he said "counter", not "check", meaning Decidueye has to come in and take a hit before it can attack.
