I used it once in an emerald run, it was alright.

I use one as a special wall in the lower tiers. Gluttony and Amnesia/Recycle/Toxic/Whatever is really nice. Sometimes I use one with Magic Coat/Taunt.

Worse Hypno with Magic Coat.

Used it in ORAS. Thick Fat+Power Gem was great on Flannery's gym. It's surprisingly fat specially.

Also, it can do the rare job of Future Sight phasing to randomly hit one of the opponent's pokemon after using Whirlwind.

Used it in ORAS. Mine had Calm Mind, Psychic, Power Gem and Teeter Dance.

Grumpig was my first level 100 Pokémon and one of my absolute favorites when I was a kid.

I also happen to bu using one in a Nuzlocke of Y right now. He's great.

I don't actively look to use Grumpig, but it's amazing if you ever get it in a nuzlocke. Great sp.def, great level up moveset and isn't too slow while providing some decent type coverage offensively

If it got a little stat buff it could be pretty decent. The problem is that there are literally dozens of other Pokémon that do effectively the same thing as it, with the same coverage and support moves.

I love spoink so I used one in emerald. Thick fat grumpig was surprisingly decent for an in-game psychic type, it was manageable. Gardevoir is still better for an emerald run, if not for being a superior psychic all around, at least for trace/synchronize.
