Considering "Kasumi" can mean "mist" in Japanese (though also an herbal flower), it's a very direct adaptation. Mist is essentially very thin fog, but the small water vapor is the correlation with the name usage as her Gym type. Perhaps a German name might go the flower route like with a water lily (Seerosen?)
