Apparently it actually came from Bulbapedo. I wanted to see what they had said about them because they're cute, and I suffered a combination of lowered guard from having just woken up and it never occurring to me that they would fuck up the name when they've literally got it right in front of them. Ash attends a Pokemon School for crying out loud, to not have a single competition to crown the top battler would be a major waste. School tournament arcs are always pretty great and given how Pokemon is less battle focused this would be a good way to give the fans some action and expand on the schools student roster.

I doubt there will be any pokeshipping, Ash and Misty's interactions look the same as their AG interactions.

What I'm more worried about is Misty beating Ash in battle will make it look like she's the strongest female companion. All those years I spent defending May and Dawn and saying they were stronger than Misty is now going to go down the drain. You give a character a Mega and have her beat Ash, then she automatically is considered the strongest. I don't know why but that's what they think.

I only pray Ash does defeat Misty. We'll never hear the end of it for the next decade if Misty beat Ash in battle.
