Yes, that is true. But what are they actually doing here? They're cramming in as many monsters as possible behind Rathalos. You don't really get to see any of them properly and unless you're already a MH fan I can't imagine it working very well. The monster hunter one has a free demo on the eshop if you want to try it. It's basically the first couple of hours of the game and you can transfer your progress if you buy the full game.

Though to be honest, there's something much worse that bothers me, i played the demo a while ago and from what i played, the protagonist never said anything, like the game doesn't even give you options to say anything, even if both options would lead to the same result, i would like that there was something to give the protagonist some more personality.

This is completely false. It goes already bad when you fight frenzied monsters, and the overworld chugs CONSTANTLY. Not to mention the horrendous pop-in of every character/enemy. It only runs decently when normal monsters are on the screen, and that's only because the models are way shittier than Pokemon's.

I am buying this. Was done with Youkai Watch 2 anyway. That is another good monster catching game!

It would be enough if NPC and enemies were just blue figures when away but not, they're fucking invisible. While enemies you get 5-6 meters of distance and they start moving at 7-8 frames instead of their usual.

The demo didn't impress me. The graphics are quite nice and being able to ride/tame iconic MonHun monsters is cool, but just about everything else falls short of the exceptations. The battle system has no depth, the questing is your bog standard fetch/kill/deliver fare, the monster mounts control like a tank and the pop in is extremely grating. The latter makes me feel the 3DS wasn't a suitable system for this kind of a game at all and Capcom would be better off if they made it for Switch for example. I guess they were in rush to cash in on that Yokai Watch audience, but seeing how poorly the game and the anime did in Japan they probably don't feel too well about their "brilliant" plan anymore.

My reasoning for enjoying it more is a little more complex than that.

Basically, I dislike the direction that they've taken with Pokemon, and virtually every other franchise in the Monster Tamer series has kept closer tabs on it's development, over the years.
