But then as gen 6 and fairies hit the scene he fell off considerably, though still fairly good in uu and can function in ou too, certainly not as bad as goodra and kommo-o

Hydreigon was honestly the most retarded wallbreaker in gen 5. Literally nothing short of Chansey could switch in and anything unfortunate enough to be slower than it just fucking died. Also let's not forget the final boss that made everybody without a Conkeldurr, Mienshao, or Throh cry

I don't dislike any of them, but Kommo-O really let me down in design, moveset, AND stats. I really don't mind Goodra's design and it can be fun to use, but it really needed a secondary typing to make it more interesting. Dragonite always looked really meh to me and was a HUGE disappointment compared to Dratini and Dragonair's designs.

Salamence's body shape and lack of details always turned me off from it. I despise the wings in particular, but the core design is pretty good and it might still be the closest Pokemon to a traditional dragon we've ever gotten besides Charizard... who ISN'T traditionally a dragon. It's also fun to use, and a huge step-up from Dragonite.

I like Hydreigon's concept a lot, and it's pretty unique. It also looks really cool. Something about its performance, though... just really leaves me underwhelmed.

That Hydreigon-colored T-Tar is pretty damn awesome.

Metagross looks amazing with every single one of these, but I especially like it with Chomp's colors.

I really want that Metagross or Salamence colored Chomp.

Without those three points though it feels very lacking, and with Fairy now being so prevalent it makes using Hydreigon a hell of a lot less fun than it was in Gen 5. There's also that whole "evolves later than even most pseudo legendaries" bullshit, making it miserable to raise.

I don't think Gamefreak got spooked and I don't think Garchomp is busted. I do think they recognize it as a mascot and do everything in their power to keep it relevant. That includes but is not limited to making other pseudos shit.

Garchomp is to gamefreak what T-Landorus is to smogon.

They decided to makes those otherwise arbitrary pokemon a standard that should be maintained at all costs.

I sort of like them all to an extent. Hydreigon is and probably always will be my number one but dragonite is great and goodra is adorable even if the pokemon has a hard life on this board. Kommo-o stands out for how cute its first form is and being the only psuedo I have a legit shiny of. Megas aside I think mence is my least favourite. Megas included and I despise mence for how broken it is but design wise chomp is easily the most hideous.

Non dragon pseudos are the coolest, one is a giant mecha spider and the other is basically godzilla.

I like Kommo-o, but the back scales could look cooler.

Garchomp is ok but a bit overdesigned,

Salamence could use a bit more detail on the wings but is ok as well.

Hydreigon is a cool concept but overall a poor execution with the weird wings, stubby legs and lack of pupils on the main head.

Dragonite was a disappointment since gen1, itself alone is not that bad but it ruins dragonair and dratini's line.

Goodra is like Dragonite but a hundred times worse, since Drag by itself is not that bad as i said before while Goodra completely ruins the snail dragon concept of the prevos and looks shitty by itself.
