Terrains getting buffed was what I wanted, but having these plus Z-Terrain moves and Terrain Extender is too much. Their abilities are similar to fighting a weather war team without any weather of your own in Gen 5 only it's not permanent. Even if you carried Terrain moves, they'd just switch in and set up their own. It basically invalidates all of the other buffs by how much more convenient to set up it is. None of the Tapus typically use Terrain Extender or Z-Terrain moves, let alone face them. When you overshadow other buffs to the same thing completely just by being present, you've gone too far.

Design's okay and lore's okay. I like Fini best.

The thing I like about the Tapus, is that each one is geared towards doubles, and while they directly benefit their teammates, each Tapu benefits a different sort of Pokemon that until now has been under-represented. Bulu's great for Grass-types and stall (but it can still hit hard), Koko is great for Electrics (and stops Spore teams in their tracks), Lele's great for anything vulnerable to priority.

You still get a lot of cookie-cutter teams, but that mostly comes down to the fact that competitive Pokemon players don't generally encourage creativity. But the Tapus still give you the opportunity to think outside the box, if you're so inclined.

Agree. Koko in particular is absolutely in my top 5 legendaries, for those reasons and having a good role in the game. Great battle theme for the lot of them, too.

Koko: Encourages a OHKO game state. "Oh, you didn't knock out my Koko in one hit? Well guess what? Here's another one. Then I'll play an Acerola and pick up the injured one."

Bulu: 210 damage in 1 hit, starting the with no energy, then removing 3 energy to knock out any Stage 1 or Basic GX, A few Megas and all non-mega EXs.

Fini: I actually feel bad for her. She was left out, and is kind of a bad card.
