I used to use any chance I could to use internet and find new Pokemon stuff online. Geocities and Angelfire had tons of fansites.

I used to walk across town by myself and cross this huge street to go to the grocery store and read Pojo magazines. My family was too poor to buy Pokemon stuff so I began stealing magazines and training cards starting with the release of gen 2. I ended with a shitton of fake holofoil cards, mostly Charizards.

My first exposure to Pokemon were these little cut out cards on the back of Lunchables boxes. One of my friends had a satellite service called Primestar that had like four different feeds of certain channels like WB, the channel Pokemon anime aired on. We didn't know that the different channel feeds were the same (just different timezones), so we'd watch an episode of Pokemon and wait until the next episode came on, thinking it'd be a new episode. Saturday morning cartoons were the best.

I'm old as fuck.

Sorry for the blog post. Haven't seen a thread like this on here in a while, and don't have any friends to talk about this with irl.
