In 2 months? No, it won't beat XY, there's a new game/updated version coming out in 2 months, so no one has a reason to buy Sun/Moon now and getting over 1 million sales within 2 months to bet X/Y is very unlikely going to happen.

They are going to outsell XY by the time SM have existed as long as XY have.

Every game duo keeps selling even after a third version for it releases. BW and their sequels aren't quite the same because the experience is different and somebody might wanna experience BW rather than the sequel but yea, the same remains true for third versions.
Also if we really wanna use that logic, then XY should not be comparable to any other game because the duo has no followup game, so anybody who wants to play Kalos can only buy XY

BW2 was a sequel, not a third version. Of course people still bought BW1. DP sales plummeted right after Platinum came out, so no, they didn't really keep selling.
