They are objectively better than GS. Everything in GS is in HGSS plus extra stuff from Crystal and all the new stuff from Gen 3 and 4.

i dont really like any gen 5 designs, even krookodile and volcarona
kalos is a pretty good region
i really like megas even if they were poorly executed and some of them are eyesores
all shillmons are good despite being shilled, even lucario and greninja
gen 1 remains one of the best gens

I hate gen 5 more than anything. It's slow, plodding, has a absolute SHIT pokedex I swear to fucking christ. I've not managed to finish a single game.

3D models are an absolute godsend to Pokemon, sprites and 2D were good for the first 3 gens but after gen 4 came around they quickly became outdated and really looked silly in all of gen 5.
That shitty grass summon patch mechanism really needs to go and make way to more immersive encounters. Pokemon bursting out of bushes and Wimpod are a good start.

This. The only games I really dislike were XY, and that's just because they spent a lot of resources on the 3D transition without really doing anything special with it; it's not really as bad as everyone makes it out to be, it's just mediocre.

whine all you want about the Battle Frontier and Delta Episode, the fact that ORAS could turn RS (arguably the worst paired versions) into a decent game stands.
