If any european country is for gen 8, its gotta be Greece. Both the Anime and Gamefreak have huge hard ons for the country, with multiple movies having their locales based on various locales, and the games borrow heavily each gen from the architecture to mythos. In fact an actual Greece region is such a hype idea that there is no actual way to not be disappointing.

Talking about that, the location for the 10th movie is based on spain, and the title for one of the best songs in the franchise (fo me at least) is in spanish, "oracion" (prayer), song wich was used as the ending theme for the 20th movie.

Spaniard here. I don't care about a region based on my country, but it's sad to see others still think the entire country has the culture and stereotypes of some of the southern regions. Plus the bull shit.
I still meet tourists who go to the northern coast expecting sunny days 24/7 only to find we have a similar weather to Britain.

Soy español (catalan) y me da bastante miedo que hagan un juego basado en este pais. Tengo miedo de que metan con calzador los putos toreros, el flamenco y el garrulismo que desprendemos al mundo. Well, just as an example of how diverse a country as tiny as Spain can be, I can give you a quick look of how things are in the region where I live: Galicia (that part of Spain that happens to be above Portugal).
It's the second most rainy autonomous community of the country, we have plenty of storms even on summer.
The region is really mountainous with moderate temperatures due to the humid coast weather. But it stills snows a lot in winter and spring on the higher places.
Also, most of the region is covered by old forests: we even have some wolves but their numbers are low nowadays.
Most of the region used to be composed of tiny towns and farmland (cow and sheep ranching used to be one of the biggest parts of the region's economy), but in the last few decades everything started to get modernized with the construction of better roads and the easier access to the biggest cities.
Also, we have the biggest count of rivers and beach kilometers of Spain.
Regarding the culture, the region is very catholic, but our folklore has traits and legends inherited from celtic tales, and it's not weird to find celtic symbolism around. Personally I would say that the old customs of our people share traits with Scotland (hell, even the bagpipe is considered an iconic instrument from my region).

Basically, no bull paraphernalia or dry lands with an infernal heat. On the other hand there's still thousands of pubs and there's people who keep on perpetuating the fame we have of laziness.
And that's just one of the northern regions of the country.

Close to my home there's a stone waterfall even, built by romans back in the day.
