Other than Trick Room or Rain gimmicks there isn't much to it in terms of viability but it's my absolute favorite dragon type. Only Pokemon that I actually knew I was gonna use even pre-release. Hopefully it is catchable a lot earlier in USUM and who knows what Tutors could add to its already great movepool.

Heliolisk is a shit just like Pyroar is a shit. There is nothing good about a normal duo type for special attackers. There is hardly anything good about a normal duo type if being immune to ghost doesn't remove a weakness, because picking up a weakness to fighting is fucking cancer.

Heliolisk and Pyroar pick up a fighting weakness with nothing to show for it from their STAB normal type attacks, because normal has a dogshit special movepool, and all they get out of it is Hyper Voice.

Both of these pokemon confirmed for me that gamefreak hires nothing but retards to make their filler pokemon.

Confirmed idiot. Normal gives them both a ghost immunity, which is especially good for Pyroar in dealing with Aegislash. Normal is also an extremely underrated STAB type and Hyper Voice is a great move.

Pyroar's Normal typing just makes him fodder for 90% of sweepers while Aegislash swaps away, unless it has Sacred Sword for some reason. Enjoy those STAB Hyper Voices on your shittier Arcanine.

Heliolisk has no fucking use for his Normal typing. Now he's BTFO by Ground and Fighting; I sure hope those aren't common on sweepers.

Ghost immunity is only "really good" when it covers a Ghost weakness. Otherwise it doesn't make an impact most of the time. Special normal types blow tremendously in general. Hyper Voice isn't good without a MASSIVE Sp.A behind it or an -iate ability so that it can offer STAB super effective coverage. Normal moves have no super effective coverage, so anything using STAB Normal skills needs to have a giant offensive stat behind them to be threatening.

Both pokemon are in the 105+ speed tier with 109 Sp.A, and where do we see Heliolisk and Pyroar in the tier lists? Fucking RU and NU because STAB Hyper Voice backed by 109 Sp.A is a shit trade for some Fighting type weakness.
