the paras line got spore, one of the most broken moves in gen one when you consider just how frustrating sleep status was in those games. that combined with the high crit rate of slash made parasect somewhat usable gen one.
And what, might I ask, does venomoth get?

I got a shiny Venonat while doing the bug catching contest in Soul Silver. I don't hunt for shinies so the few that I ever got are completely by chance. Neutral nature though.

at least it had a unique typing at the time. why would anyone bother using venomoth. If they wanted a poison bug they would have already gotten beedrill ages ago. you find it around the same time as you find scyther and pinsir, but it doesn't come close to offering the same kind of power as either of them.
I love their design, but i can't see anyone picking one up. Why did gamefreak make them so useless?
