Good fight as totem.
Bad as regular pokemon.

In gen 4 Game Freak signed a contract that said they must introduce an utterly shit pure grass type in every gen. First it was Carnivine / Cherrim, then Maractus, then Gogoat, and now this.

Nope

I never understood the appeal of it. It's design is okay and it's movepool's fine, but its just a worse Tsareena. Not one of my least favorites, but I'm not really a big fan of it either.

Probably my favorite Alolamon. Would never use in competitive but I had some success with it in-game and it's fun to use in TCG.

Does it have any sort of niche in battle?

The only move that contrary works with is Leaf Storm and it's special movepool is literally only grass attacks.
If you want coverage you have to use Hidden Power (which is almost never better than just using Leaf Storm), Nature Power with Terrain (at which point you might as well just use grassy terrain and stick with Leaf Storm), or fucking Weather Ball.
