This was a bit tricky, but I went with Brendan since he actually more resembles Norman in all versions of the games, while May resembles Birch. He's also been related to Norman in more adaptations. And the ORAS trailer suggested him as the protag.

Incredibly tough as I know Dawn is vastly more popular. However, Lucas is depicted as Johana son more often, plus the starter dynamic of Lucas/Turtwig, Dawn/Piplup, and Barry/Chimchar is too good to pass up.

I was tempted to go Hilda, since she resembles the mother character too perfectly, but Hilbert has been depicted as the protagonist of the BW games more often. Plus he's the first protagonist since Ethan to have comparable popularity to his female counterpart. And like Red, Ethan, Brendan, he is depicted as the hero in Generations.

Ok, so all of them were boys. I wasn't trying to reach that conclusion. At the start, I figured Dawn, Hilda and May would be the ones, but thinking it over, the boys will always be presented as the protag if there is ever going to be an officially released series. That's just how TPC rolls. Plus Ash is meant to serve as a proxy for the male protags. Note his clothing throughout the gens.
