Not that anon but I own a clear blue Muk figure and it glows a very bright white under UV light. The appeal is both ironic and not. It is a solid design for an Elemental, could be included in most fantasy settings with a little reworking of the eyes, recolor it for water, mud, lava etc. It is a good design solely measured by these things alone. It was a very neutral and effective design, until Alolan forms where it basically comes out on top as a flashy design although it was never was intended to stand out. Out of the spot light or in it, it excels. A true Jack of all trades design.

Normal person, someone who doesn't play Pokemon anymore. His knowledge of Pokemon would be rather limited. And he'd mostly have played the first two generations of Pokemon. Although, even still, things such as Gardevoir would be considered "normie" cuz it's super popular.

Greninja over Blastoise is stupid, at most Squirtle could replace him because of his popularity, Gen1 status and it being cute. But because more boys than girls played that game back then, I'd say Blastoise. Mudkips is a joke, but I guess viable as an option.

Its prevolution is already popular as fuck as far as Bugs go, and it looks cooler than Butterfree. The latter has been in the Anime for 20 episodes, so I reckon that Scyther is far more popular than it.
Scizor looks cooler and was Gen 2, so I'd think it'd be more popular than either. I think Scyther is the right option, actually, as it also was in the Anime (far longer than Butterfree even). Butterfree is the girl-option.
