I'm really partial to chiptune stuff because it sounds so good a lot of the time, but Gen 5's OST is really standout. 2 favorite OSTs of mine:

If there's a worst it's probably ORAS' soundtrack or all of gen 4, they just throw a million instruments in a song and it sounds like a mess.

The pianos were about the only good part, everything not using pianos was ruined completely. Part of why I'm looking forward to gen 4 remakes is for unfucked music

6. Don't understand how people like the GBA/DS sounds, but ok. Gen 7's soundfont seems to tend towards smaller sounding ensembles, especially in the strings. 6 sounds more like a full orchestra to me, and there are some really great textures like Anistar and Shalour city. Really imaginative soundscaping
